What better way to create your sanctuay at home than by celebrating Sukkot! This is the holiday to express our joy to the fullest, and Temple has plenty of ideas for you to move beyond your four walls to the walls and open-air sukkah, whether real or virtual, at home.

For a Dreamer of Houses: Shelter in Uncertain Times
Wednesday, Oct. 7, 7 p.m.

Join Temple members Dr. Anna Katherine Brodbeck, Hoffman Family Senior Curator of Contemporary Art at the Dallas Museum of Art, and Nancy Cohen Israel, independent art historian and writer, for this virtual program that will explore the idea of shelter, transience  and memory. Using the DMA’s exhibition “For a Dreamer of Houses,” which Brodbeck curated, as a starting point, their discussion will interweave contemporary art, current events and Jewish tradition to address this unique time in which we find ourselves.

Sukkah Visits 
You'll have a chance to gather in person in and around the Temple sukkah with up to 10 family members or friends during Sukkot, beginning Saturday, Oct. 3. Please bring your own chairs and food with you. Water bottles will be available. If you would like to shake a lulav and etrog, please bring your own as well.

Donations of Fresh Produce
Bring your apples, oranges, canned fruit and vegetables to Temple during the Week of Sukkot to donate to North Dallas Shared Ministries. There will be drop boxes near the sukkah and the main entrance.

Connect with Nature
This is a great time to express gratitude for the natural world. Choose your own place or visit the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, Trinity Audubon Center, Bonton Farms or the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve.
