AS YOU PREPARE

The month of Elul is all about preparing for the intensity of the Days of Awe. Think of it as a warm-up for the spiritual marathon ahead. At Temple Emanu-El, we offer a variety of learning opportunities throughout Elul as a personal check-in.

HIGH HOLY DAYS HUNGER RELIEF

A truck from North Dallas Shared Ministries will be parked at Temple from Rosh Hashanah through Yom Kippur. Please consider making a donation of the following requested, nonperishable items:

• Canned meats (stew, chili, chicken, tuna)
• Canned fruits and vegetables
• Canned and dried soups
• Rice
• Pasta

As we prepare for the High Holy Days (5781/2020), we anticipate passing through the opened gates of learning, social justice and prayer in anticipation of the new year. The month of Elul is a time of repentance in preparation for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. The tone of the season shifts to joy and gratitude as we enter the month of Tishrei and anticipate the holidays of Sukkot and Simchat Torah.
