Monday

Happy Handwriting Class Teacher: Marnie Danielson, MHS OTR, Mondays, September 8 - November 10; 1:00-1:45 pm

Marnie will use Alphabet Beat to address grasp, writing and letter formation. Kids will enjoy using fine motor, gross motor and motor planning skills to promote writing! 

 

 

Ballet (Threes and Pre-K) Teacher: Belinda Staffin, Mondays, September 8 - November 10,  1:00-1:45 pm 

Your child will learn the joys of dance in their tutus through weekly dance classes. They will practice for their end of the year recital. Participation in all 3 sessions is a requirement. 

 

Little Chefs  Teacher: Cheryl English, Mondays, September 8 - November 10,  1:00-1:45 pm / 2:00-2:45 pm

The children in this class will explore all aspects of cooking. We will take fresh fruits and veggies and create yummy and nutritious fun foods. The chefs will receive a cookbook so they can show off their skills at home. Bon appetite!  

 

Karate Teachers: Dallas Martial Arts Academy, Mondays September 8 – November 10; 1:00-1:45 pm (3s and PreK)  

Children will learn confidence, discipline, self-respect, life skills and self protection. 

 

Tumbling Time 4’s  Teacher: Julie Blasnik Mondays, September 8 - November 10, 2:00-2:45 pm 
Join me for a fun tumbling time! We will work on introducing basic tumbling skills depending on the child's age and development. Children will have fun with games, obstacle courses, and basic floor gymnastics while building up their self-confidence. Tumbling and basic gymnastics improves a child's motor development, hand-eye coordination, strength, and flexibility.

3D Art   Teacher: Susan Stein,  Tuesdays, September 9 - November 11, 3:00-3:45 pm 

Explore the world of three dimensional art! Create a variety of sculptures using clay, wire, paper, found objects, plaster, paper mache, wood and more! Sculpting is a great way to build hand skills, visual acuity and self-expression. 

 

Little Geniuses Teacher: Coach de Laurence Burnes, Tuesdays, September 9 - November 11, 3:00-3:45pm

Little Geniuses is a chess-song singing, laughing, chess-tourney, dancing, chess clock-slapping, zany chess video, puppet show introduction to chess. Kids play chess for mardi-gras beads, and compete weekly for one of 20 brightly-colored silicone wristbands. Provides developmentally-targeted, infectiously-fun thinking activities and find them compelling, exhilarating, and extremely gratifying.          

 

Snoopy Tennis

Tennis  Teacher: Kidokinetics, Tuesdays, September 9 -November 11, 3:00-3:45pm

Children will sample tennis through supervised plays and interactive activities. The program is a part of a continuum of programs developed by USTA to promote fitness and growth of the sport with young children. The program focuses on developing important building blocks for life: discipline, confidence, coordination, cognitive skills, motor skills, and fitness.

Developmental Drawing Teacher: Marnie Danielson, MHS OTR, Wednesdays, September 10 - December 3; 1:00-1:45 pm

This fun class will be for 3’s and up.  We will address fine motor and gross motor activities that foster handwriting development.  In addition, we will use Strokes, Shapes and Scenes, a fun video that addresses drawing and pre-writing skills.  OT, Marnie Danielson will focus on grasping and age appropriate writing skills through drawing.  A perfect precursor to writing!  

 

Soccer Palz Wednesdays. September 10-December 3; 1:00-1:45 pm  

Soccer Palz is a program developed by professional soccer player, Ross Spencer, that introduces children to the world's most popular sport: soccer. The curriculum has been designed to teach children the basic fundamentals of soccer and to create a fun, active environment, which allows children to develop their coordination as well as learn lessons in teamwork, sportsmanship, and character.                     

 

Golf  Teacher: Coach Walker, Wednesdays. September 10-December 3; 1:00-1:45/ 2:00-2:45 pm  

Introduction to The First Tee Life Skills Experience; provides a fun and safe environment that creates curiosity about the game of golf. Teaches The Nine Core Values of Honesty, Integrity, Sportsmanship, Respect, Confidence, Responsibility, Perseverance, Courtesy and Judgment.

 

Imagine That! Teacher: Marcy Grossman, Wednesdays. September 10-December 3; 1:00-1:45/ 2:00-2:45 pm

Come have fun with Marcy through storytelling! Your child will unleash their creative side by acting out literature based stories, as told by Marcy, while incorporating costumes, puppets, face paint, art, music and so much more.

Fun with Hebrew Teacher Shellee Saplitsky, Wednesdays, September 10 to December 3, 1:00 to 1:45 pm  
 
Join Ms. Shellee for a fun and exciting class where learning Hebrew is a JOY! Dance, Song, Stories and Puppets create a dynamic and thrilling environment where children learn by being surrounded by Hebrew! The children are having such a great time they don't even realize that they are...learning Hebrew! The children will be immersed in a stimulating and friendly environment where they will embrace the beauty and unique richness of the Hebrew language. This is the best enrichment hour your children will ever have, and you will be amazed at how much they can learn!

PowerKids Teacher: PowerKids Staff, Thursdays, September 11 –December 4 3:00-4:00 pm 

A wonderful opportunity to allow your child to experience a variety of sports including: basketball, soccer, t-ball, basic tumbling, hockey, volleyball and more. Good for their body, great for their confidence! 

 

 
Number Magic Teacher: Claire Rachman, Thursdays, September 11 –December 4  3:00-3:45 pm

Fun and games with numbers and math concepts, measuring, playing Bingo, weighing, counting by 2's, 5's and 10's and basic number operations to build a strong math foundation.

Weird Science Teacher: Cheryl English, Fridays, September 12 –November 21, 1:00-1:45 / 2:00-2:45 pm

Explosions, gooey creations and amazing discoveries will captivate your child in this science-based class. Children will learn the concepts of the scientific method through the exploration of earth, physical and life sciences. 

 

Spanish Teacher:  (Spanish House) Fridays, September 12 –November 21; 1:00-1:45 pm

During Spanish enrichment classes, children are engaged in fun learning activities in an “all-Spanish” immersion environment. We utilize a variety of materials, songs, and dances to teach basic Spanish vocabulary and listening comprehension. Spanish House instructors are native Spanish-speaking professionals with years of experience in early childhood education.

 

Famous Artists Teacher: Susan Stein, Fridays, September 12 –November 21, 2014; 1:00-1:45 pm

Learn about the lives and works of famous artists and create art in their image!  Paint water lilies with Claude Monet, sculpt with Dale Chihuly and create sunflowers with Leonardo da Vinci and much more.
