Financial Pledge - Membership

MEMBERSHIP DUES

Membership dues are calculated based on the age of the oldest Jewish adult family member and the number of adults in the membership. All children under age 25 are included. Dues can be paid annually, semi-annually, quarterly or monthly.

Please note membership financial pledge refers only to Temple membership and does not apply to Youth Learning+ Engagement tuition, ECEC tuition, or other events with their own fee structures. If a life cycle event occurs during the first year of membership, you may be asked to pay the entire year’s annual dues in advance. Once you become a Temple member, your membership and billing remain intact from year to year unless you inform Temple that you no longer want to remain affiliated at Temple Emanu-El.

BUILDING MAINTENANCE FEE

In order to preserve our Temple and keep it secure for future generations, we must keep it on a solid financial basis. In addition to dues, a pledge to the Building Maintenance Fee is a requirement of membership. Amounts are $2,000 for ages 18-69 or $1,000 ages 70+.

This pledge is to be paid over a 10-year period for members 40 and older. Members under 40 will pay an annual fee of $36 until age 40. At that time, the annual Building Maintenance Fee payment will increase to $200 per year until the $2,000 pledge has been paid in full. Members who join at age 70 and older will pay $100 per year until a $1000 pledge has been paid in full. You will be invoiced on the same billing schedule (monthly, quarterly, yearly) as your dues and building maintenance fee.

Resignation of your membership from Temple Emanu-El cancels any remaining Building Maintenance Fee balance due after the date of resignation, but not prior unpaid commitments.

SECURITY FEE

There is an annual security fee of $450 to help cover the cost of our year round security needs. You will be invoiced on the same billing schedule (monthly, quarterly, yearly) as you choose for your dues and building maintenance fee.

We want to make sure that you know that financial concerns are never a barrier to membership at Temple Emanu-El. If the standard dues schedule is not within your budget, confidential financial assistance is available for dues, tuition and many events.

STATEMENTS

If you have chosen quarterly payments for your billing cycle, and are joining in the middle of a quarter, your next quarter's billing statement will be prorated.
